Nervous Excitability #1

The composition is organized into a loose vertical grid of columnar forms, each composed of stretched ovals and rounded cells that seem to swell and constrict as they rise through the frame. Dense zones of crimson, ultramarine, teal, amber, and violet accumulate within these columns, while the intervening spaces open onto an ivory field articulated by a network of dark, filament-like lines that stitch the surface into an irregular mesh. Color pools at the centers of many shapes, creating nested rings and subtle halos where one hue bleeds into another, so that warm reds and yellows press against cooler blues and greens in a series of small, localized contrasts. The repeated, slightly wavering verticals and the taut web of lines establish a rhythm that feels both ordered and unstable, echoing the title’s suggestion of a charged, nervous structure held in temporary balance.
