Against an ivory ground, circular forms in cadmium yellow, vermillion, ultramarine, burnt sienna, and muted violet are dispersed in loose vertical bands, each orb encircled and penetrated by radiating black lines that resemble branching filaments. These filaments intersect and overlap to form a dense mesh, with thicker strands tracing vertical paths that subtly organize the surface into columns, while finer threads weave horizontally and diagonally, complicating any single directional reading. Larger, nearly opaque black and brown nodes anchor the composition near the edges and lower register, counterbalancing the brighter spheres that cluster toward the center, so that the eye moves rhythmically between zones of chromatic intensity and dark gravity. The overlapping lines compress and release space, alternately flattening the surface and suggesting layered depths, and the repeating motif of nodal circles linked by branching pathways quietly echoes the associative networks implied by the work’s title.
