Limpidity #1
Nested bands of navy, blue, green, cream, yellow, violet, and red curl diagonally across a deep teal field, gathering into rounded pools and sweeping arcs.
About the work
The composition unfolds across a deep teal ground as a sequence of nested, asymmetrical bands: a near-black navy contour enters at the lower left and loops across the upper field, holding channels of sky blue, emerald, cobalt, and pale yellow around a dark central form. At the lower left, a broad yellow lobe supports smaller violet, cream, and black pools, while a saturated red band sweeps along the bottom edge before rising at the right through narrow flashes of pink, orange, and ochre. The contours remain clearly separated even where their directions converge, but visible grain and slight variations within the colour prevent the surface from becoming mechanically flat. Repeated enclosures draw the eye inward and then release it along the red countercurrent, giving the title’s promise of clarity a structural meaning: every layer remains legible within the movement of the whole.
