Sinuous teal and crimson columns rise against black, enclosing circular pools of red, amber, and blue within fine pale-gold contours.
About the work
A broad teal column holds the centre of the composition between darker crimson forms, all three swelling into rounded chambers and narrowing into slender passages. Fine pale-gold contours follow their edges, sometimes separating from them to circle small pools of red, blue, and amber. Black channels cut deeply between the columns and open within them, while the painted surface gives each colour a dense, uneven grain. Two amber discs punctuate the vertical movement near the top and bottom, balancing the cooler central band against the red flanks. The folded outlines and enclosed nodes suggest the internal organisation of a cell, though the image remains an arrangement of colour, interval, and recurring curves rather than a diagram.
