About the work
Vertical strands traverse the pale ivory surface, anchoring a sequence of bulbous, lens-shaped forms whose interiors are layered with concentric rings and floating circular nodes. Fine, hairline filaments radiate laterally from these central spines, creating a mesh of overlapping curves that thickens and thins as it moves across the composition, suggesting zones of density and dispersion. Warm cadmium orange and alizarin crimson structures on the left are counterbalanced by cooler ultramarine and lemon yellow forms on the right, establishing a chromatic dialogue that moves the eye rhythmically from one column to the next. The repeated, branching lines bind these elements into a continuous lattice, so that each colored body appears both discrete and interdependent, echoing the interconnected sense implied by the title “Venini Network #3.”
