Venini Network #2

Elongated, cell-like forms in vertical columns are connected by fine black lines that traverse a pale ground, creating a loosely gridded network of colored shapes.

About the work

The composition arranges a series of vertically aligned, capsule-like forms across the surface, each column distinguished by a distinct chromatic register that ranges from slate blue and seafoam green to dusty rose, amber, and terracotta. Thin black contours and filaments trace around and between these shapes, branching and looping in arcs that imply currents or flows, while small nodal points punctuate the lines at irregular intervals. The largest central form, an oval field of muted teal bisected by a dark spine, anchors the image and subtly reorganizes the surrounding space, as the linear strands appear to emanate from or converge upon it. Variations in scale, internal patterning, and color density create a rhythmic progression from left to right, so that the work reads simultaneously as a sequence of related units and as a single interconnected structure, echoing the notion of a “network” suggested in the title.
