Neural Network #2
Interconnected black circular nodes are linked by dense, meandering lines in black, red, orange, and blue across a light beige ground, creating a layered lattice of pathways.
About the work
A loose grid of vertical and horizontal paths in cadmium red, burnt orange, and black traverses the pale beige surface, intersecting and occasionally looping back on itself, while thinner Prussian blue and grey lines weave through and around these routes. Large, matte black discs punctuate the field at irregular intervals, each emitting clusters of radiating filaments that bend, overlap, and merge with the surrounding linear network. The composition balances dense nodal zones with comparatively open passages of unmarked ground, producing a rhythm of congestion and pause that guides the eye laterally and vertically. As the lines converge, diverge, and cross, they suggest layered channels of transmission and relay, echoing the work’s title through an intricate play between nodal solidity and the fluid, branching continuity of the surrounding pathways.
