Cellular Automata
3 worksCellular Automata runs a rule and prints its variations. In the first work, parallel vertical bands carry linked ovals and concentric circles that expand and contract from top to bottom, setting a pulse across the square. Cream and pale blue grounds support sequences of crimson, cadmium orange, deep violet, and viridian, each form given a darker core and lighter perimeter. Fine contours trace every shape into a secondary network of subdivision and adjacency.
The Name Escapes Me loosens that structure into softly wavering ribbons of orange, cerulean, violet, yellow, and navy, their stippled cells interrupted by dark circular apertures. Aleatoric Movement compresses the rule into a six-by-six register, where repeated ovoids drift from yellow and scarlet through green to deep blue while doubled contours, split fields, and small misalignments keep every cell distinct. Repetition with mutation, held inside a constrained field. The three works are available as limited-edition giclée prints on museum-grade cotton paper.
