Grapes of Eternity
Interlocking circular forms in saturated colors are held within an undulating network of branching shapes against an off-white ground.
About the work
Large, rounded discs in reds, violets, blues, yellows, and muted greens cluster across the surface, linked by tapering, vein-like bands of teal and turquoise that rise from the lower edge and fork outward, creating a branching armature. The circles vary in scale from compact nodes to expansive orbs, generating a measured rhythm as they press gently against one another and against the pale, ivory field. Areas of overlapping color produce soft transitions where one hue seems to slide beneath another, while the consistent, dark outlines maintain clear boundaries and a sense of structural clarity. The composition balances dense constellations of forms at the sides and center with more open passages of unmarked ground, so that the eye moves in looping paths along the branching framework. The title subtly inflects the reading of these clustered spheres as a kind of abstracted, ever-renewing growth, suspended in a continuous, self-contained spatial system.
