Gyrification

1 original artworks in this collection

Gyrification takes its name from the folding of the cortex, and the work earns it. Rounded compartments of colour press against one another in an irregular grid, separated by narrow ivory channels that read as seams; inside each, closely spaced concentric arcs bend and ripple, setting an internal rhythm against the smoother outer silhouettes. Deep blues and blacks gather at the corners while turquoise, orange, and yellow pool toward the centre, circulating weight and temperature across the plane. The layered ring-markings suggest slow accretion — time laid down in furrows. Offered as a limited-edition giclée print on museum-grade cotton paper.
