About This Work

Organized as a four-by-four matrix, the work stages a measured interplay between circular motifs and their containing squares, each cell presenting a distinct yet related configuration of concentric rings, arcs, and bisected discs. Vermillion and burnt orange volumes advance visually against fields of slate blue, ivory, and black, while thin dark outlines clarify the edges of each curve and accentuate the sense of layered depth. Repetition of the circle—sometimes complete, sometimes cropped or divided—sets up a steady rhythm across the grid, with small shifts in color distribution and proportion generating a subtle syncopation from panel to panel. The title’s reference to tactility is echoed in the pronounced relief of the rounded forms, which appear to swell forward from their frames, establishing a physical tension between flat, rectilinear boundaries and the palpable curvature of the circular elements.
